State of rent relief in India: Is it worth it?

The state of rent assistance has been reduced to just Rs. 4,300 per month from Rs. 7,600, a move that the state government says will reduce the burden of collecting the money on the poor.

In August, the government also reduced the amount of rent that would be collected in every month from a maximum of Rs. 6,500 to Rs. 5,600.

However, many people still struggle to get enough money to cover basic expenses.

The government has been working to reduce the income tax burden, but this is not enough to get the poorest of the poor to pay their rent.

“I am still in a state of shock.

I am going to have to pay Rs. 2,000 to my landlord every month.

I have to rent the house to pay the rent and feed my children,” said the landlord of a small apartment block in Delhi.

He is not aware of how much rent is collected by the government.

The government says it will not be able to pay out Rs. 1.9 lakh in rent assistance this year, but it said that in the next few months it will be able take out Rs 1.8 lakh.
